About the society
The Swiss Anthropological Association, founded in 1971, brings together anthropologists in Switzerland. It promotes exchanges within the discipline and with the public at national level alongside the most significant Anthropology research centres (universities, technical colleges and museums). Different committees within the association play various roles including the organisation of academic events (annual conference, thematic conferences); working groups (medical anthropology, museum anthropology, research ethics, visual anthropology, political anthropology, educational anthropology, etc.) and publications (the journal Tsantsa and the association’s bulletin. The Swiss Anthropological Association also maintains an audio-visual collection, which is expanded each year with the acquisition of further ethnography films.
