The position is situated in the project “Waxing and Waning Words: Lexical Variation and Change in Middle English” (Prof. Dr. Olga Timofeeva and Dr. Annina Seiler Rübekeil) funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). The contract is limited to one semester (6 months), with the possibility of extension.
Your responsibilities
The project investigates Middle English vocabulary in four semantic domains: religion, law, medicine, and education. Student assistants will help collect data from the relevant dictionaries (Middle English Dictionary, Oxford English Dictionary, Anglo-Norman Dictionary, Dictionary of Old Norse Prose, Dictionary of Medieval Latin from British Sources, etc.), compile bibliographical information, and perform administrative tasks with the other members of the project team.
